Ferries depart from various ports and the largest of them all is located at Central. Taking the bus is another alternative when going around HK, especially in Lantau and the south side of the island. Finding bus stops and few signages in English may be challenging to tourists. Complex road system, traffic jams and expensive rents are enough to discourage travelers from renting cars. Cars are only advisable when visiting remote parts of New Territories of Lantau Island.
