Who We Are
Community Chest of Singapore was established in 1983 with a simple yet vital mission: to raise funds for the nation's many charities. It is about raising funds from the community for the community in need. Charities supported by Community Chest are then able to do what they are best at - providing critical social service programmes to help children with special needs, people with disabilities, frail and lonely elderly and families facing difficulties.
Over the years, Community Chest has built an enduring trust and partnership with many organisations, foundations and individuals and raised millions of much-needed dollars that enabled us to care for our beneficiaries.
Community Chest raises funds on a yearly basis to meet the needs of the social service programmes that we support. Â As fund-raising cost is covered mainly by Tote Board and Singapore Pools (Private) Limited, every dollar raised by Community Chest will be made available to social service programmes under its care.
What We Do
All funds raised by Community Chest will go towards supporting programmes that help:

Accomplishments/Projects
Since its inception, the number of people helped by Community Chest has increased from 23,000 to more than 340,000.
Community Chest celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2008. Despite the economic downturn that began during the last quarter of 2008, Community Chest managed to raise $50.8 million required to support 149 programmes.Service Centres (FSCs).
What We Need
At Community Chest, every dollar counts.
- $5 for your monthly magazine can help an elderly receive care and have his / her basic needs met for a day at a Sheltered Home.
- $11 for a personal pizza can help a family receive a day of consultation to help them cope with responsibilities, challenges, and problems.
- $22 for a pair of movie tickets can help a person with disability receive a day of vocational training needed for his / her employment.
- $47 for a meal at your favourite restaurant can help a child with development delays receive a day of therapy to help develop his/her behavioural, social and communication skills.
Every donation, big or small, can make a difference.
