SINGAPORE, March 31, 2010 -- The Swiss-based organisation accepted Hotelwithheart.com's humble proposal to support the ICRC's global work in providing protection and assistance to victims of armed conflicts and other violent situations through donations that come from hotel bookings.
In a letter response, ICRC Deputy Head for Private Sector Fundraising, Andreas Jaross, extended the approval to Hotelwithheart.com's proposal for collaboration. "We are very grateful for your generous intention to partner with the ICRC in order to support our activities. As an institution whose activities of protection and assistance for victims of conflict situations worldwide are funded exclusively through voluntary contributions, the ICRC is most grateful for every support. We have looked at your website and at your proposal and find it very interesting," wrote Jaross.
The ICRC will now have a profile page on Hotelwithheart.com's website. Guests booking hotels with Hotelwithheart.com may now choose the ICRC as the organisation to receive the donation. The donation comes from Hotelwithheart.com's booking commission from hotels and not from the guests. As many as there are guests choosing ICRC as the beneficiary, Hotelwithheart.com will be able to make a substantial donation to the humanitarian organisation.
