There are a lot of amazing things in Little India. It is also the perfect place to buy souvenirs especially in stalls located at Serangoon Road. BTW, thanks for sharing your blog! I’ll recommend this to other travelers. It’s really more practical to stay at budget hotels.

Thanks for suggesting this Andy – I was just looking through my Lonely Planet – then your comments have just confirmed it – when I get to Singapore next month I am definitely going to check out Little India.. And thanks for the recommendations – the Santa Grand sounds right up my alley!

Some of the best shopping areas I have ever found. And the Santa Grand is really nice, I stayed there last year.

I am going to Singapore in November. Can’t decide where to stay. My airline is booked but still working on the accommodations.

  7. Carly says:

I went to Santa Grand last year also, what a coincidence. The shopping was really good and if you look hard enough you will get a close by and cheap hotel also. But remember it is an Asian country, so if you go to cheap your really do get what you pay for.

It makes it easy to get around on a budget when you have a great public transport system like Singapore has. The MRT stops right at Little India and can get you to all of the great shopping districts very efficiently.
